Help needing chooseing what size honda rod bearings needed.
So, first i measured all the rod bearings that i took out, and got...
1. 1.53
2. 1.53
3. 1.53
4. 1.52
then i looked at the crank shaft and got these numbers going from the crank pulley towards the tranny.
[c 3] ..[ 2]. . ...... [c 3].
[4 ] ..[c 3]. [c 3]. [ p] .
I was trying to look at a color code chart, but idk... i couldnt figure **** out. lol
I would ventrue to guess that i would want BLUE rod bearings, but i really have no idea.
any help

your going to have to go by the #'s on the rods/crank.
you want to get sizes by measurements; then your going to have to .0001 accurate.
then you can use this chart or measure them yourself.
Blue 1.510-1.507 mm 0.0594”- 0.0593”
Black 1.507-1.504 mm 0.0593”- 0.0592”
Brown 1.504-1.501 mm 0.0592”- 0.0591”
Green 1.501-1.498 mm 0.0591”- 0.0590”
Yellow 1.498-1.495 mm 0.0590”- 0.0589”
Pink 1.495-1.492 mm 0.0589”- 0.0587”
Red 1.492-1.489 mm 0.0587”- 0.0586”

yeah, i saw that chart... but all my bearings where bigger than the biggest bearing on that chart. We measured them like 4 diffrent times with a digital caliper
1.53 <mine> compaired to 1.51<honda's biggest>
how do you chose just by going off what the crank says?
OH, BTW.... Its a stock crank but Crower Rods.

you are going to have to get more accurate tools than that.....a digital caliper like that wont do crap for you in engine building. Save those for brake rotor measurement..
you need .0001 accurate micrometers(or for bearings a bearing micrometer)/ inside micrometers( or you can do with a bore gauge).
if not stick to the #'s on the rod/crank.

i have no problem going off the numbers on the crank. But what im asking is HOW do you read them?
i put what numbers were on my crank, but i dont see how they correlate with the color code chart.

so... all of mine have the letter C on them, so im assuming thats the colum im most intrested in.
there is only 4 rods, but 6 numbers and at the far end there is a P.

ah, so wait... all of mine would be brown then?
they are all C3's that point to each part of the crank that are where rods go.
hmm... maybe im not that stupid after all.
am i right? or still totally off?

yeah you seem to be on the right track; the rods have #'s on them (1-4 usually 3)
and then the crank has letters
and then the crank has letters
