Default how many hp gained on my b16 w/these upgrades??

I have a b16 in my ef hatch it has the following upgrades. A iceman CAI,Apexi catback exhaust,Skunk2 IM,Greddy 4-2-1 header,CTR intake cam. I also have a wet kit but have'nt installed it and may resale it.

I'm about to get my TB bored to 62mm basically a type R TB. I'm also getting my skunk2 IM port matched and ported. I will be adding 1 of those thermal IM gaskets that supposedly keep intake temps down. What kinda HP will I gain with those 3 mods??

I'm also probably adding a aftermarket fuel rail at the same time but thats mainly for looks..

I've also read that my 4-2-1 header is basically junk compared to the 4-1 is this true?

My 4-2-1 already has 2 o2 bungs and fits great does'nt scrape or nothing and my car is grounded so I like that.

Has anyone had both style headers in thier b16 ef and can comment??

Should I step up to a 2.5 inch 4-1 like a type r header?

Also my catback I believe is 60mm i'm not sure though but I believe its slightly under 2.5 inches. Would it benifit me performance wise to get a custom 2.5 inch exhaust?

My exhaust sounds great 1 of the better sounding hondas i've ever heard everybody loves it but this thing has 2 big cat lookin canisters that gotta be restricting flow and the car has no cat.

thoughts?

Thanks just wanna do it right the 1st time well the 2nd time in my case.

Buy the parts, dyno it and find out. Every engine is different

I know thier is no way to tell without a dyno. I was basically looking to see if anybody had experience with these upgrades and if it was noticable.

If I can gain 10hp from upgrading my TB,IM,Gasket and rail i'll be extremely happy.

If I will gain another 5-6hp by switching my header or exhaust I wanna do it.

I'm just asking for people opionions that i've had these upgrades done.

I would guess around 10-12 hp at the wheels. If your shopping for a header, here's the deal:

The B16 already has a really good manifold to begin with, so adding a 4-2-1 may add only a couple hp, but you will save about 20lbs in weight.
A 4-1 does make about 6-7 hp, but mostly in the high rpm range. Ground clearance is an issue for most 4-1 headers.

very true, depending on the conditon of your motor and how well it runs will differ how it responds to some mods, but,

in general,
you should notice a good differnce. it should pull alot harder and sound a little deeper. no major differnce.

The fuel rail wont do anything without a pressure regualtor. you can get a fuelrail but the stock regualtor only allows so much fuel thro. getting a fuelrail will not increase you pressure it will increase the flow. but you can use the increased flow unless you can turn up your pressure. and you dont need major pressure unless your running really high compression, or forced induction. just get a pressure regualtor and a liquid filled gauge, that should do you fine. but for looks you can get a rail if you must. wont hurt.

The 4-1 header will pull alot harder in top end due to better exhaust flow, i have a 4-2-1 header and its not crap just less flowing than a 4-1.

Your exhaust is fine also. 60mm is fine you dont need 2.5 inch piping. it might make it sound crappier. thats what it did to mine.

I have a b&M FPR on the car now.

I love to have a nice looking clean engine bay that my main reason for the rail. Plus I heard its nice if I decide to hook up my wet kit.

My header is the dc sports 4-2-1 w/2.25 outlet I believe. I've been thinking about selling it for awhile and getting the 2.5 inch typr R one. I've just seen the dents in these things and see how low they sit and it sketch's me. I believe I gotta cut my crossmember. Is thier anyway to put a plate on these thing to stop them from getting dented up??

I'm getting my skunk2 IM mildly Ported and port matched to my ported TB 62mm. And will be adding the thermal IM gasket has well this week. I just hope its a noticeable gain.

Thats basically what I got. I got a Civic type R intake came from honda motors online. I was told it was better then the type r cams for my car. I was also told that the b16 exhaust cam is basically the same.

I will probably take it out and sell it for like 200. Its a really nice upgrade for your bottom end i'm just looking for top end track power right now.

My friend just put crower stage 1's on his GSR with stock valvetrain without cam gears and it made a huge difference atleast 15-20hp on the butt dyno.

Yeah I know about having to cut. If I can gain 5hp to the wheels and find a way to keep from denting it up on my car then I'll probably get 1.

With the type R header bolt up to my gutted cat or apexi exhaust?

I'm thinking i'm gonna need to eliminate my cat.

I might not be able to put a 4-1 on my car now. I had 205-40-17's but took them off to put on my rota 16's with 205-40-16's. Now my car is way to low my oil pan, header and buddyclub front are on the ground.

Can I raise this car atleast a inch by getting some 215-45-16 tires??
