nervous about buying a type-r
I really had my eyes glued to getting a Type-R. Many people have been talling me to "watch out" for theives. How do all you ITR owners not get your cars stolen? I'm not gonna buy one if its so hot to get stolen. So what do you guys do to keep theives away?

It depends on where you live. If you're in Europe, I don't think you will have anywhere near the problems we have here in the US. If you don't have a Honda 'scene' there (i.e. few Honda's) then you probably don't have much to worry about.
Anti-theft measures and good insurance help. Once we know where you are at, maybe we can put you in touch with some Euro bro's who can give you a better idea of the risk. IMO tho, it's worth it. Best damn car short of a 911, and 1/3 the price.

i've waited 4 years and still going to own an R. I don't even own one yet and i worry about that shiz everyday...how sad.
but yea, if i were you, i wouldn't worry at all being in Europe

I have boomerang (GPS Tracking decive), immobilzer, 2way pager alarm, my parents cars block my car in all the time.. and oh yeah, i sleep 10 ft away from it (my window)....
Yes im paranoid when i go to shopping centres.. but thats what the 2waypager is for and a pair of nike runnin shoes? hahaha

I dont necessarily think this comment is fair. Kids may have some to do with it, but whats to say that 25+ yr olds arent rolling around with jacked motors, tranny and 5-lug you know. I dont worry about my car getting stolen, unfortunately its only a car. You as a person can not do anything about it so why worry about it?

Two things...
Get a Ins Quote on the R or Si first. It might scare you
Second, can afford a beater if you get an R?
Ok one more thing... If you get an R do you have a garage?

To be honest an Si isn't going to be much better of a choice...and for 12k you could find something much better then a bone stock Si

just bought a R 2 months ago ... I have a garage for it .. i think that is the best thing to have.. I also but a really nice alarm system on it near the first day i go it .. Where i live is also does not have a high theft rate...
