Headlight Bulbs question
hi, i have a 97 Prelude, and i was looking to get new headlight bulbs for the car...
as u all probably know, it takes H1 bulbs.
I was looking at getting xenon bulbs that are at 8500k...too high??
i was wonderin if there would b any problems with heat and melting the plastic covering the bulbs?
Or any other sorts of problems that could arise??
any help would b appreciated
thanks

i used to have 8500k in my lude, b4 i did the projector and HID swap,, and I had no problem with anything really.. except the fact that the color of the bulb made visibility really shitty in the night time ,and non existent in the rain... i dont recomend them. but the best bulbs that i found, were silverstars, in terms of visibility.
the higher the k. you'll have problem with heat. burning out the harness and etc. they're not really that bright (waste of $$$) your better off with hid they not that $ now.
4100 - 4300k is what you see on oem hid's
5300k white yellowish
6000k is greenish white
8000k blue
10000k pinkish white
12000k purple
I have 6000k on my solara and its just okay, but i rather have 4100.

b4 i put in the projector/ HID kit in my lude, i had put out at least 4 8500k bulbs... for some reason, they dont last very long....

I went through about 4-6 pairs of aftermarket bulbs. Then I got fed up and got an HID kit.
5th gens are notorious for blowing out aftermarket bulbs. Even with same wattage as stock bulbs. I don't know why.
So either stay stock, or get HIDs/projectors.
