d series rods
i have heard that the 86-87 d16a1 integra connecting rods are good to 250hp and are a good swap for a d16z6 that has rods that are only good to 200hp. anyone know if this is true? i hope so since i already took the time to go pull them from the junkyard...
I wouldn't use those rods. You could pick up a set of eagles for under $300. If you do go with whose rods, what happens when you wanna push more power? Plus look at what year car you'd be pulling them out of. Those are some old rods, I wouldn't trust them.
ok d16z6, 10.5:1 comp srp pistons, 80 shot of nitrous, v-afc, i/h/e, ported and polished head, ls tb port matched, zex 59300 cam, crower valve springs & retainers, etc. i was gonna use eagle rods but i am hurtin for money and i already have some d16a1 rods from an 87 teg. basically which rods would i be better off with: z6 or a1? in HPBOOKS, Honda/Acura Engine Performance, By Mike Kojima it states that the 86-87 rods are good to 250 hp and the z6 only to 200
Those rods are "only" as good as Z6 rods. They are super thick, which gives them a stronger apperanace, but the metal in them is a more brittle alloy than other D rods, so they end up about the same.
