2DC2 Integra TYPE R - Valve clearance in 120,000km service
hi,guys,
i checked around and couldn;t find a similar post. I'm looking at an integra Type R which has had half of its 120,000km service done. Why half? well, the owner was having financial constraints and hence, the last thing which needs to be done is in relation to "valve clearance" which was estimated at AUST $500.
1. Would anyone have a clue to what needs to be done relating to "valve clearance" at the 120,000km service point which is costing $500 at honda?
. Would this "issue with valve clearance" cause compression readings for each cylinder to be out of the acceptable range of 250-255psi?
Please excuse my lack of knowledge. Thank you, all.

500 for valve clearance check? Do it yourself. Buy a set of feeler gauges, take off the valve cover and check. It takes about 10-15 minutes to at least check it. If valve lash is off significantly, it will vary your compression readings, but its an easy fix.
Go to team-integra.net and find the how-to on valve lash adjustment.
Just because the valves have not been checked in its service, dont "not" buy the car.

dudes, thank you so much
Yeah $500 is a bit too much.I am going to call honda myself tomorrow and talk to the mechanics in charge of that car.

Do that yourself its easier than you think. You can get feeler guages for less than 10 bucks. And if its out of wack you can buy the tool(I think snap on) or make one like I did.
