so i told you guys that i had been talking to david at omni power about the shock body length problems us EF'ers have been having. i got an email today that said that they got a shipment of new shock bodys in but the EF shock bodys werent in there. he said that they are getting a new shipment in, in 2 weeks and that will be all EF shocks, so everybody who owns the omni's, if you havent contacted them, do it. heres the emails i got from him yesterday and today.

So does this mean omnipower will be replacing the early model front struts?

yes....they are going to be replacing the EF front shock body. as far as the DA's, youd have to talk to them about it. that might have been what their shipment was of ya couple days ago.

 

what was the problems with the front struts anyhow? would it be related to why the front dont drop low?

 

Yes the old EF front shocks were 1" too long which causes the front to sit higher.

 

So we have to send them our front coilovers and we get the new coilovers back?

nope
thats the old shock body, bottom collar raised all the way up, with even the preload fucked with (by moving the spring perch), if im not mistaken

RIGHT ON .. I had to lower the top spring perch, just so it can get a lil lower...

Didnt they test these coilovers on a car before they sold them to customers?

 

Hopefully I should be recieving my new shocks soon..

Rob... in that pic is that as low as it will go while keeping preload, or as low as it will go after removing the preload and everything?

It's as low as it goes when I removed preload as well..

aww damn i had my hopes up when i saw this thread, and i noticed it was from june. My ef will forever look like a monster truck on the lowest setting ..

 

thats low thou why would any one want to go lower then that good luck thats all iam saying i got koni's and sprint springs and i'm happy

 

ive been in constant contact with Dave from omni power, and hes supposed to be giving me a call on monday or tuesday. hopefully this will be resolved soon, ive let him know that the EF and DA owners have been waiting for almost a year now for these new shocks, and up until 3 months ago he kept saying 3-4 weeks. if he doesnt call me by tuesday, im going to call him.

sold mine as well, not that i would have done anything diffrent after they agreed to fix this.

ug.. whatever.. so sick of it

 

they sent me the shorter sport shock bodies last week. problem fixed .

they shortened the plunger by half an inch, and dont require a preload so you can lower them from the spring perch.
