Has Anybody Even HEARD A Pioneer TS-W5000SPL Sub Before?
Sup fellas. I've been looking over some subs and such to put in my Accord and I'd just about settled on the JL 13W7. Then I checked up on and read about the Pioneer Premier TS-W5000SPL 12" sub. Sure, the first thing to come to mind is that Pioneer speakers suck, but this puppy peaks at 5000 watts with 2000 watts nominal. The monster is pretty massive weighing in at 69 pounds with three magnets and the rest of the specs on it are pretty impressive. Reviews for it are VERY light on the ground, but the few that are out there say that this sub is something pretty serious.
The local store near me admits that the specs are better than the JL; but fall back on the whole 'JL is the clearest, best blah, blah, blah' because they haven't had one of the Pioneers in the store even though they can special order it. My question is whether anybody around here has actually heard one of these? It would be great to hear what opinions are from folks that have heard it instead of relying just on information and a couple short net reviews.
Thanks

IF IT SAYS PIONEER ON ANY SPEAKER,DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING GREAT.IF YOU HAVE A STREET CAR YOU WOULD HAVE TO DO A LOT MORE THAN BIULD A BOX AND GET AN AMP FOR THAT THING.
had one in my civic for an spl contest. It hit 149.8 db with only 900 clean watts. Sounded okay. Moved a lot of air. Wouldn't use it for daily listening though. It is kinda sloppy and is only good for a burping contest.
