Default oil spots in IM

took off the skunk2 intake manifold and noticed some oil spots in there.

i do notice sometimes at ide my car will throw out a little puff of smoke every now and then. sometimes it can be constant, but its very little and hard to tell there is smoke coming out.

motor just got rebuilt with new rings, bearings, etc... motor has 275 miles on it so far.

any reason why there are some oil spots in the intake manifold?

If you are still using the factory crank case/pcv (positive crank case ventilation) system then some oil film in the intake manifold is normal. However if it becomes excesive than there may be a problem I.E. too high of crank case pressure due to worn rings, pcv system problems ect.

Also if you just had the motor rebuilt and only have 275 miles. It may be that the piston rings just have not set/broken in all the way yet.

What type of oil are you running to break in the engine?

compression is roughly 210psi across

on the smoke issue, i was told to keep driving it to put more miles on it... since i don't have very many miles on it right now.
