well i had alot of things go wrong at one time so i pulled the car off the road. the engine was dying, both front wheel bearings went, and the rear brake is locking up. so now im putting in a new motor, bearings, bushings, and trying to figure this brake problem out. for the last weeks i had the car running the brake pedal was sinking to the floor, then i would pump it a few times so i could stop. my thoughts were the master cylinder until i noticed the rear locking up. any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
The cylinders on the rear brakes are probably shot. I'm assuming that you have drums in the rear? Pull the brake drums off and take a look at what condition the entire assembly is in.
a common problem with these is for the metal lines to rust where they come out of the passenger compartment, especially in the back. check the metal part of the brake lines in the back and front.
