3rd gen ignition advance
first ill tell u about the car i have:
1988 honda accord lxi,
A20A3, 5-speed manual
this particular engine has a vacuum ignition advance, and i would like to know if, to advance the ignition, you would have to cancel all the vacuum before doing it? and also, does the ECU have any control over the ignition advance...
i have one more question- do u have any affordable tips for increasing the performance of an A20A3? this is a fun car, but i think it could use more "KICK" lol
thanks

leave hoses plugged in at vacc adv as is, you should have vaccum on hose # 2 .only, also put a vaccum pump on vacc advance and pull a vaccum make sure it holds ,,,, if it leaks you need to replace vacc advance....and no timing is not computer controlled there are centrifugal weight advance in didtributor if weights freeze you have a lazy take off from stops
