broken a/c belt

Default bad a/c belt

my a/c belt on my 95 civic ex coupe is acting up. when i hit about 5000 rpms till redline (7200) it squeeks then when i shift it sounds like a bird chirp. i am going to replace it i am just unsure on how to replace it. if somebody could give me instructions that would be cool. thanks

there is a pulley almost on the side of the block you need to loosen that and that will relive tension and you might have to take the side mount underneith the splash shield off

try not to hurt yourself when attempting this difficult task. You may want to have a couple of people come over just in case.

if your belt is chrip its to loose you need to tighten it up

Yeah, but while your at it why not just replace a 10.00 belt?

Best suggestion i can give you is go to autozone and buy the haynes manual, if you haven't done this before it's going to be difficult, but not impossible.

Your going to haft to loosen the power steering belt (if it's there depending on trim level,etc) and slip it outta the way to replace the AC belt and all of this stuff is covered in detailed description in the manual.. best 15.00 purchase i've made

if the belt is good shape then just tighten it up if needs to be replaced then replace it
