ls/vtec starting issues -searched-
I just got done installing my ls/vtec setup into a 92 CX. It took me a little longer than normal because i didn't have a lift to do it with this time, but i managed all the same. After everything is installed and the car is back on the ground i turn the key.... and it cranks up like a champ. I let it warm up completley, just to be sure that everything was cool and ran to the honda dealership (still needed to refill the tranny. I get home and fill it up.
ALRIGHT! I GET TO DRIVE IT NOW. (the moment we all wait for)
It doesn't crank.
"That's okay, I'm sure it's something stupid...." I notice that the Main Relay is clicking and the fuel pump isn't priming. I replace the relay with one from my other hatchback.
It primes the fuel pump and cranks up like before.
"Yes! I'm a genius!" (or so i like to pretend sometimes)
It randomly cuts off...like someone turned off the key. I inspected everything again, making sure that all sensors are connected and no fuses are blown. And try again.
No dice, sometimes the fuel pump doesn't even prime in the RUN position. I mess around with the relay again (it's clicking like it's going out of style) and decide that the chances of me having two bad relays in one sitting are slim to none. (I drove this car all the way to GA from NC immediatly after purchasing it, so i know the relay is fine)
If i turn the ignition completley off and try again, it will run for a second and immediatly shut off. I have had this engine setup for a couple years now and it was in running condition when i took it out Saturday.
Anyone have any clues what the problem might be?
Thanks a million!
