I understand that in order to install a 99-00 civic climate control there are other parts besides the climate control in order to make it work. But I've been seeing this JDM climate control pop-up more and more on ebay and wanted to ask if anyone knows if this is a direct install into my 96 EX or does it require the same modification as the 99-00? If anyone could help with this I would greatly apprecite it. By the way here is the link to this climate control on Ebay:

I have always wondered about this. The 96EX uses a mechanical linkage to control the heater valve dosen't it? That is the only problem I can see. I would assume that the JDM civic with climate control has an electric heater valve of some sort...

 

all the 99-00 climate controls are electric and 96-98 is cable, 96-98 ctr climate controls pop up on ebay every so often

 

that one is pretty funky. I would say you need the heater blower and the selector from that car.

Hey man, I looked into this a while back, I think a guy called Chameleon did a guide on the 96-98 climate control conversion. Big job, and since in the UK we never had the climate control version its near impossible to get the parts.
