when the engine is running & at idle, I have a fair ammount of air pressure coming out of the oil filler, to the point that I can't pour oil into the hole without it splattering. I am told this is bad. Am I being told correctly?

 

you shouldn't have the oil cap open when the car is running. it's normal.
