Its a 1995 civic with a 1995 b18b. i just got the engine reff'ed 2 weeks ago and passed. Now today after driving 50 miles, i get home to leave again and the engine takes forever to start. it finally fires up and i give it gas and it just bogg's, and then i floor the gas peddle and the engine just hesitates and shakes alot and ten shuts off, and makes a wierd sound, kind of like when u do a compression test. Now the damm car just dont start. It cranks but dont turn over.
Cliff notes : i press the gas to the metal
and its doesnt do anything, then shakes and engine dies

since no codes check for loose or missing ground on thermostat housing. seen this alot w/b-series swaps. they also usually seem to back fire through intake.

ya, i got gas. Update: now the car dont start, just cranks, but wont turn over.
ANother yet dumb question....does your fuel pump kick on? We know you added gas but have you changed the filter.
Oh yeah...in the recent past was the car just a little harder to start?

car has always started right away. I can hear the fuel pump kick in. Ive never changed the filter, might do that this week. anyone got a list of things i should do.
Heres the cliff notes.
Car wouldnt do nothing when i floor the gas pedal, but would only drive up to about 2000 rpm, ten start to dies, unles i shift.
Now car dont start, cranks but dont turn over.

aigh i tested the map wires. the yellow/red had 5volts, and the yellow/white i believe, was 2.9volts. the middle wire, didnt read anyting, its ground i beleive.
i know your proly gona laugh but i raced a guy once with a 99 civic si and after that his engine started doing the same thing so i told him to take it to my house couse he didnt have tools. it ended up beign a big piece of plastic from his cheap cone filter that was cloging his tb, made him feel preety dumb but was happy it wasnt anithing big. so if you havent taken the intake out check that simple but it can cause that.
The yellow/red wire you tested is the power wire from the ECU and is good at 5 volts. The other wire you tested (I think it's green/white) is the signal wire... that's the voltage that gets relayed back to the computer. With the key on and the engine not running, the signal wire should be 5 volts as well. If it's 2.9 volts... it thinks you're almost flooring it, so it's going to feed it that much fuel and flood (run like crap/not start). The third wire you tested is the ground. I think you should find a friend you can borrow the MAP sensor from and test it to see if it works, then get yourself another from a junkyard (or Honda if you've got $$$).

u think that might be the issue? When i had a b16 before it did this once in a very great while, like every other month, but only did it when i took off after work, and went away right away, once i tap the gas pedal. Im gonna check it out, see if my buddy has one, also i think ima change the fuel filter i guess.
