Default Do i need a new main relay??????

i think i fried my main relay when my distributer wires touched i did multi port on my car and the two dizzy wires that you have to wire up touched while i was driving and the car died so now when i try to start the car i get no spark and my engine light comes on but the ecu never flashes at all and people told me that it might be y main relay...

Just re-solder all of the solder joints. You can totally tell that the joints have melted somewhat and some of them are probably broken up a little too. Just get a solder iron or gun and resolder all of those spots. A solder gun will cost you $30.00 for a decent one. A Solder iron will cost you as little as $10 at radio shack or sears. Get some solder and just go to town on those spots. A New relay will cost you $40-$60.

Edit:

I guess I like to repeat myself a bit.

could be a fuse, either under the hood on the passenger side (strut tower) or under the dash, below the steering column.

Check those and get back to us.

electrical things start to wear out more when it is hot outside...and they become more noticeable... cars are like humans, we cant stand too hot or too cold..

it might sound too simple. But switch your battery out for one that you know works.. maybe a friends... batteries can be weird sometimes. Sometimes batteries, even when charged overnight, and you know the battery sucks but still works, still wont power the car properly. But if you dont have the money to buy a new battery... just to be safe.. find out if you can get your hands on a volt Meter to see if its putting out.. what was it.. 15?for the battery?... If your battery is good, it will start up by jumping it, while its still connected.. and if your alternator is shot obvoiusly it will die...

--double and tripple check all of your grounds.. and maybe take the time to sand the surfaces of the connections so you know they are grounded properly

--make sure all your GROUNDS are nice and tight... a loose ground can easily disable your whole car...

--You said you check all fuses... make sure you check the main fuse etc under the hood. 50..60 and 40 i believe...square box fuses(red green ..yellow)

--main relay = fuel pump should prime... and controls spark...

-- You could have fried your Distributor when you touched those wires... Maybe you need a new COIL??>. but strange because you dont get ECU flashes?....

dont mean to list everything like you dont know what your doing at all.. just throwing things around.. it always ends up being something dumb .. ^_-

haha I just got done doing my mini-me (d15b2 w/z6 head) and put it in my 90 CRX SI. Got it running last night but had a coolant leak . Fixed the coolant today go to start it up. Nothing. I checked battery-starter, battery to battery fuse, battery to block (see if the ground is good).

Its weird. I open up the door and my check engine light, oil light, brake light and door light all come and and shuts off when I shut the door

And this is with my buddy the electrician helping.

Time to pull out the schmatics and figure it out. I am thinking its A relay. But not sure if its the main relay. The car ran good before I did this mini-me swap.

The only thing I did to the engine harness is lengthen some wires.

However I did mess around with the A/C wiring since I no longer have it there. And that included a relay. I'll let you guys know if I did anything wrong.

Car cranks forever, but wont start. The ecu dont blink at all. No codes, No 1 blink when I turn it on, no nothing.

Nobobys got anything? Checked it all out again today, and still nothing. Just has no spark and no ecu power. All the fuses are good, even replaced some of them. What the hell is wrong with this thing!!? I dont get it, cuz it ran all day then died out that night and wont start again. I dont know what else to do.
