Default Honda MTF weight?

From what i read in this forum a lot you guys favor the Honda MTF even in your LSD equiped tranny.

But searching the forum doesnt come up with the weight?

I could get the Honda MTF in Malaysia but is it the same formula or blend worldwide?

Did Honda developed their MTF to suite both LSD and non LSD trannies?
So its safe to presume i can use it in my B16B tranny?

Reason i'm asking is i'm currently using Redline 75w90 and its almost 5-times more expensive than Honda MTF.

MTF is 10w30 with special additives. MTF is used in both LSD and open diff transmissions.

Each bottle is 1 qt - seems to be the 'industry standard' for transmission fluid

It's about 2.4 quarts to fill a drained tranny so you'll need 3 quarts.

The full capacity is 2.2 - and the tranny is not fully drained just by pulling the drain plug and letting gravity do its thing. It will barely take 2qt (and sometimes less), but always buy 3 to be sure. It will pour of of the 'fill' plug when its full.

Completely unneccesary with an OEM torsen diff.

I have never had a b-series tranny take 2.2 qts when changing it. I have done it "a few times"

I'm curious where you got the idea that was necessary.

Haha industry standard is 1 liter per bottle here in Malaysia. So its safe to say i only need to buy 2 bottle and it's enough?

Also what special additives does Honda put in?

Im not sure if different tranny's take different amounts. I know they shouldn't. However, I went to a local Honda dealership and had a clerk look up the amount and it was 2.7 quarts ( J1 JDM B16A tranny ) of Honda Manuel Tranny fluid (4.25 per quart). I change my tranny fluid every time I do an oil change and it looks to take 2 full bottles and about 3/4 of the third before it starts coming out the excess fluid drain plug

Maybe unecessary but its piece of mind for me.

I have another trans that I use for strictly track that has a clutch type diff, I use it in that and along with quieting(if thats a word) the chatter IMHO it makes the tranny feel and sound better. With my stock trans it also sounds and feels better, when I got the car it had a slight grind into 3rd at high rpms and this additive has seemed to shut it up. Maybe bull **** but it works for me, besides its only a couple of bucks from jeep.

I also have used it in all my Jeeps.

Its beyond unnecessary - it serves absolutely no purpose, as there's no clutch packs in the diff. I dont think it would be harmful in any way, but if you feel the need to lighten your wallet at each fluid change, then have at it
