I have my boost gauge, BOV, and Map sensor connected to a GE vacuum manifold (t'ed into brake booster). At idle the gauge(autometer) reads 15psi of vacuum, but the map sensor shows ~10psi of vacuum on my laptop. However, they read the same in boost. I've tried 2 different blow off valves and neither blows off, instead, I get compressor surge. As soon as I get off work today I'm going to try and figure it out, but wondered if anyone has had anything happen like this and has any suggestions for me. If I had a leak, would it effect the brake pedal at all since it is tied into the brake booster?

It would affect the braking if you spliced the manifold after the check valve or if the check valve is bad.

 

It is spliced before the check valve...bump for some help

"before", on which side of the check valve?

the boost gauge shows boost?

 

Passenger side of the check valve.
Yes, the boost gauge shows boost, the same readings as the MAP sensor.

How did you try 2 different blow off valves... you have two identical BOVs?

I have a 1st gen dsm BOV and an RFL with the 1st gen adapter...

Well I'm trying to figure out how 2 BOVs don't work.

This is the second time I've been trying to help people, and ask useful questions, and people tell me to get "back on topic".

of first off you cant have 15 psi of vacuum at idle, you have 15 in hg of vacuum, which is quite low. it sounds liek you have a vacuum leak. the dsm bov should work. try teeing into another port on the IM. how much vacuum does the boost guage show when you let off the gas?
