Default Long time, no type... (Project updates, 56k, enter at your own risk)

Well, I'm no n00b, I've been around the game for some time, but I just had an update on the everlong project that is my 1991 Civic Hatchback.

IT ACTUALLY RUNS.

...and runs pretty well, at that.

Anyway. I've had the car for about 8 years or so now... Put in a b16 after a month or two, did some NA mods, got in the 14's, and decided to go turbo. BAD decision, but I've dedicated myself to it now. It'll stay that way, I suppose.

Anyway, here's the mod list and a few pics to whet the palatte.

Engine:
.020 overbored B16a
9.2:1 compression Endyne pistons, coated skirts and tops
Eagle rods
1st gen B16a head
94 GSR cams
ITR/b16 valvesprings pressure matched for the best set
ITR intake manifold
64mm JG throttle body
550cc Venom Injection Injectors
190 LPH Holley in tank fuel pump
Endyne catch can
MSD Cap and Blaster SS coil

Turbo:
Inline Pro t3 manifold
Tial 35mm wastegate
Precision SC34 turbo, 57 trim stage 3 wheel
Precision "600 hp" mid size intercooler
GReddy Type S BOV
GReddy Turbo Timer
GReddy Profec B EBC
Thermal R&D 3" catback
Custom 3" test pipe w/ flexpipe
Custom 3" downpipe
Custom pressurized intake tubing

Suspension:
Jimfab Traction Bars
Ground Control coilovers
Tokico Illumina shocks in the rear
Tokico Blues up front (blown from wheelhop )
SPC Extreme adjustable balljoints
SPC aluminum LCA's
SPC toe adjusters
SPC camber arms

ECU:
Z-Dyne SECU Gold, fully programmable

Interior:
Nothing worth mentioning besides a handful of gauges

Exterior:
A sticker or two... and an emblem on the back to remind me I used to be a clear taillight havin ricer, too. lol

Best dyno on the old intercooler setup was 264.3@8100 and 193.7@6400 with the boost controller set at 14 psi. It should make a good bit more now... better piping, MUCH better intercooler and all.

Dyno graph can be seen HERE.

Best run to date on my old intercooler setup was a 13.3@112.7. This was on 195/50/15 Potenza S-03's with a 2.39 60' time, spinning through 3rd.

And the moment you've been scrolling for.... the pics.

And the obligatory "JDM Style" tilted camera shot...

Hope you enjoy'ed em.... I know I enjoy the car.

great looking EF although the engine bay is kinda untidy.........but that doesn´t matter if its outcoming power satisfies

Yeah, I know. That engine bay is aweful...

But once it runs reliably without the manifold bolts backing out every few heat cycles, the engine bay is the next to go under the broom.

I see you finally went with the air to air intercooler.

Beautiful!

Does that inline pro w/T3 clear your full radiator with no touching?

Very nice. 2 Questions:

1. How did you get the manifold to clear the radiator? (must be a 5bolt mani)

2. Are you using a bumper support up front?

Thanks.
And looks good!

I want to know also. Some one told me that they sell smaller radiators, that look like intercoolers but it's a radiator. where does anyone where to gets those? Sorry about stealing for thread.

You remind me of the SRT4's i see at the track, Launch so incredibly hard, i dont know what their thinking, spin though 1st 2nd, and shift 3rd and bog to about 2000rpm where it hooks up, and have to downshift back to 2nd.. On the track.

Dude, learn how to drive.

Ha... I'd like to see you do much better on pizzacutters... I don't launch hard, I almost leave at idle, but as soon as boost comes on, it's an artform of pedaling the throttle to keep the car on the edge of breaking traction... I haven't learned this art yet.

I'm sorry that I've only run it eight or nine times at the track, and without good wide sticky meats. I just haven't found the sweet spot in the throttle that will GO without making so much power that it blows the tires off like they're not even there.

I did keep a small c section of the front bumper support to hold up the front bumper cover. We cut it to fit around the intercooler using a plasma cutter.

The turbo compressor outlet is pretty much ON the radiator. We added an elbow to the outlet to turn 90* quickly, and the piping runs over the manifold... That's what the little heat shield is there for, to protect the coupler at the outlet. I do have some trouble with the car overheating slightly. It runs fine, but when I dog on it and build up some heat, the temp needle starts to creep on up.

I checked the timeslip again... it was only slightly better than what I posted.

2.39 60', actually.

What's an oil cooler going to do to help? I just keep the oil changed on a regular basis... should be good enough.

It's 0 lot line, 1250 sq ft 2br/2ba, but it suits me just fine.... The big 2 car garage was my primary interest, the rest was just icing on the cake... That and the fact that it's in a well established, well kept, VERY easy going neighborhood.

Thanks for the props on the car, everyone. I've been trying my hardest to keep it clean and simple, with a few flashy items to just raise the interest of some Camaro/Mustang/Corvette drivers I come across.
