i bought a hatch that has a y8 motor in it but a dx wiring harness, dx tranny, and dx ecu.. it does not have vtec hooked up at the time but when i wired up the vtec and connected the P2P ecu in, it throws 3 codes.. but when i have the P2T in its normal running condition with no idle problems. My ? is do i have to get a ex harness for the right pinouts? can someone please explain the steps of a non vtec to vtec swap into EK civics? (what i need to get it running like a normal ex civic would run)

 

Could it be a y7 with y8 IM/Head (a mini-me?)?

If so, go with the p2p ECU and hook up a knock sensor and check that the IACV is the one for y8. Is it 2 or 3 wire?

Or, just get a obd2 to obd1 wire harness conversion and get yourself a p28 ECU. That does not look for the knock sensor.

What codes is it anyways?

 

what are you talking about?? its a straight up d16y8 block with y7 components.. and no im not going obd1 when everything CAN be plug and play.. im trying to find an answer on how to do so but youre reply did not answer anything

both o2's and a iacv i think.. i dont remember

 

well teh y7 had a 2wire iac and the y8 has a 3 wire. is the iac wired up correctly? the dx harness should work fine a few xtra wires and pins are needed thats all.

 

thats what i need to know! i have to get an iacv from an ex then wire it.. is there any diagrams where i can do this?
