LS TURBO OR LS/VTEC TURBO???
whats up everyone?
I have a 88 crx si right now i have a 97' LS that im about to swap into it......... I am going to turbo it! i love turbo's!
now all my friends are telling me to go LS/VTEC....should i just turbo the LS or should i spend the money to build up a vtec head and then make LS/VTEC.....wait a little while and turbo that?
Are LS/VTEC's good for turbo??
better than LS turbo?
And i have a YS1 tranny from a ls integra will this hurt the LS/VTEC non-turbo performance or will it be a good combo?? i know the tranny will be good for turbo!
but thanks alot for your help!!!

it all comes down to money and drivaebilty. the vtec setup will be much more reliable and drivable. and if you arent so technically inclined, running boost can be an expensive experiment. not to say i dont love boost, but i just dont have the cash to get a reliable setup and dont want the headaxche of messing with one. ls/vtec in a crx should be plently fast and, if you want to in the furte, make a great setup for turbo b/c of the bettwr flowing vtec head.
what do you mean not technically inclined?? i have done many motor swaps and know my stuff i was posting that to get some opinions from people that have these set ups..........
Honestly, I'd forget the idea of LS/VTEC and just stick to the LS Turbo. Better Rod/Stroke ratio, but if you're going all out and have the dough to fork into it, then go on with it. Just like most things, it's about money.
How is the rod to stroke ratio any different for an LS turbo than an LS vtec? The only difference is the head, the bottom end is the EXACT SAME.
I think you meant to say that the r/s ratio of the LS bottom end would be more reliable just going turbo since it is not suited for the high revs of LS vtec.
