Default Fuel recomendation on 05 type s

Anyone in here that use 89 gasoline on their car? I prefer 93 gasoline, but some people start out 89. As the car get older, they start using 93 so the car perform better. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks for the opinion

I would recommend using 91+ or 93 like you said. Higher the octane rating the better the performance and its better on your engine. For my ITR its premium only and have heard that is you dont use premium, it runs like crap.

93 all the way! 91 is not even available where I am at, it goes 87, 89, and 93. Dealer said 91 is the minimum. Only thing I dont like is the $$.

The manual says 91 or higher so I would not recommend putting 89 in at anytime.

The ECU will automatically pull timing if it detects that the knock threshold is not as high as intended due to lower grade gas, etc. this will obviously cause a performance loss. The DC5 has a high CR, so why people would consider using less than premium is beyond me. I use 93 since that's what we have here locally.

91+, why would you want to use cheap gas i the car in the first place? Only reason why I would figure people would use cheap gas is if they are leasing a car. People leasing a car dont really care for the car much or the gas put in ( from the ones I know of anyways).

I've always used 91 in my car ( highest octane available here) and the car has been running good.

I was actually considering this myself a few months ago when fuel was going crazy.

DON'T DO IT!!!

91 minimum. If they don't have it use 93. NO 89!!!

YOU WILL **** up your motor if you use lower than 91 octane consistently.

If you're worried about the price difference, think about the 5k it will cost for a new motor.
