Default Help: Carpet removal and Airbag harness question

Hey guys. I am in the process of stripping my interior. I have come down to the carpet. now i have removed the seat belt bolts and the bolts securing the dash to the floorboard. All that is in my way now is the airbag harnesses. I am wondering is it safe to disconnect the harnesses with the battery disconnected. I know it would be simpler to just cut that small section of carpet down the middle but I am really trying to avoid that.
Thanks in advance.

Well i didnt want to post this since it is obvious but i just gutted the interior of a 98, and i ripped the carpet in the center with a razor. I have since installed it in a 00 civic, you could never tell and it was easier installation

as long as the battery is disconnected, you can plug and unplug that airbag connector all day. just make sure the battery is disconnected
