Default HID help

i recently picked up an rsx, apparently with hid's installed. these are juss the bulbs and not retrofitted and whatnot. i dont know much about hid's but i know they should be a lito brighter then this

i know they are 5000k, shouldnt they be shooting farther then the stock halogen bulbs? i mean, i was nearin a 4 way intersection and could not see **** until i was 20 feet from it. im thinkin that the bulbs are dying or sumthin, luckily the person i bought it from has 3 extra pairs of bulbs, here is one of them

and the bulb

now, IF they are indeed burning out, how would i go about replacing them? juss take out bumper and headlights, unplugg old bulbs, shove new ones in and thats it? or would i have to do all of that heatgun/melting sealing and ****?

tenks for anyone who will help =D

you can get the stock bulbs anywhere, local part stores, the dealership, internet, performance shops. they just have to be H1 bulbs

Are you saying there is a way to realign RHD HID reflectors to make them LHD? JDM lighting is flat out bad for a LHD country...

Honestly, just buy an OEM HID PNP kit and save your money for better things. There's no point in wasting money on the JDM RSX HIDs, all they are is the TL/TSX/CTR Mitsubishi ballasts + D2S based reflector... You already have a LHD reflector, just get a good PNP kit + harness... and aim them lower please.

I've had 3 retrofits, and sold 30+ pairs of CTR Projectors, both HID and Halogen, JDM, Euro etc...

the higher kelvin rating you have of bulbs (bluer) the less light output you have. I wouldn't be suprised if your bulbs were less bright than stock.

those bulbs are garbage. You should've asked the guy to put in the stock halogens when you bought it.

Anyways, they'll probably blow soon and then just buy halogens if you don't want to spend money for HIDs.
PIAAs are okay too, and much better than silverstars, but they're still hit or miss. Can last 2 weeks or 3 years.

HIDs are the best way to go. Retrofitting are the best option but you'll have to shell out 700+ dollars for a set. The quality between retrofit and just HID bulbs are very noticeable.

I just went xenondepot 6500k because I didn't have 700+ to spend on retrofits. I got mine for 325 shipped. Excellent quality.
