Default Smog Question

I was just curious if any californians on this board have tried to pass smog with aggressive cams such as Jun 2/3 and Toda B/C? Is it possible? If so how hard is it? I want some aggressive cams but I also want to pass smog.

Does increasing your compression change your smog?

Ok, so say i don't pass smog, what happens?

Not really most Cams will make Higher emissions. Especially at Idle, the cat usually will hide the emissions at Cruise but at Idle it will usually fail.

Litttle bit of info for joo guys. Well, all i can say is think hard before you modify. The new updated smog inspection is an intrucive type test. What this means is that they actually hook up the smog machine to the obdII port on your car and it looks for fault codes, etc. And no you can't just reset the ecu either because it will know it hasn't run any emissions monitors yet and cancel the test.

good luck ya'll.

There are so many shady characters doing smog tests... you could pass with a side exit header if you went to the right place...

Get your smog done at a place you feel scared just being in the parking lot...

Technically, I shouldn't have even passed a "visual" in CA. ...but that shady smog station has gotten 4 referrals from me and will have my repeat business.

haha i hate going to those shady places....i seriously feel like theres a million eyes watching me stroll down the road in my integ.

For the smog test i didn't know they plugged anything into your ecu. I thought it was just a sniffer and a visual examination?

yeah used to be that way but if you live what they consider enhanced areas(high pollution) and your car is OBDII then the smog machine will request a plug in.

Austin: sorry not too much info right now. We are in transition phase. I'll post what i find out.

Didnt the old Jun adds that said it made 30+hp also claim that it will pass Ca emissions?
