1. take out cluster
2. take out plastic cover
3. use a small, sharp like pin (saftey pin, paperclip)
4. put it in b/w each number (you'll see something sticking out in the middle of each #)
5. push it down or up to change your number...

</TD></TR></TABLE>

Technically, the odo should always read the number of miles on the chassis, not the engine.
Don't do this

Exactly. I don't recommend doing this at all, unless your 100% sure that you're not going to sell the car. Even then, it's not a smart idea.

Man you know what would have made this thread easier on you... You should have said "This is my Race Car, with no title, or VIN numbers"

I don't think anyone would have given you **** then.

Rolling back an odometer is illegal. Period. If you want a clean slate, get an aftermarket gauge and keep it on your column.

Last time I checked, not all B16 swaps are illegal. Newer engine in older car=legal.

To answer your question, you need to at least open the back cover to get to the odo. Ane the only reason I know this is because I got an Si gauge after I swapped in the B and wanted to keep it the same as the chassis.

Why not just write the mileage down the cluster shows now, then you can subtract the mileage on the odometer, and you'll know how many miles are on the engine?

While some swaps may be illegal, I don't think it's as bad as rolling back the odometer.

No prob. If you play around with it, you will get it to work. It is kind of a pain, but be careful not to break the plastic retainer that holds the mileage steady.

If you go somewhere and have a shop do it theres a form they can fill out saying the cluster was replaced at X amount of miles thats why the new one is at the lower millage and that should still be legal I think.

PM CXSHOE if you have more questions... BTW don't use the pin trick and roll back the miles, there's a needle inside and you'll risk messing it up

he didn't ask if this was illegal. He just wanted to know how you roll back the mileage.
