ignition lock won't turn - 89 Integra 5spd
Ignition lock on 89 Integra RS 5spd is wearing out and often the key won't turn. WD-40 used to help but replacement of the part is probably needed. I've heard that the full job is $250 for part and 2+ hrs labor which is out of the question. I've also heard there is a short-cut fix that allows replacement of just the lock without major disassembly of the steering column etc.
Sorry if this is a noob question, but I've searched archives without finding an answer. Desperate for a reasonable cost solution.

Just get a new lock cylinder, it's usually around $50-80. Remove the plastic steering collar, two screws to remove ignition switch, two bolts that hold on the lock cylinder. The two bolts that hold the lock cylinder are mushroomed as an anti-theft thing, so just get a hammer and chisel, make an indent in the mushroomed top, then use a flat screw driver to spin them out.
