A/C troubles...help!
Ok, awhile back my A/C died on me. I had the freon recharged, I replaced the bad compressor clutch relay (compressor is fine), and I'm about to drop in a new P14 because my auto tech teacher says that the pin that sends the signal is burned out.
The other night I wired up the relay (we had cut the pigtail harness to get the relay out), and since then still no A/C, which i expected because the old P14 is still in there. The Problem is, when I turned on the A/C, the light on the rear defroster button came on. Now its gotten to where no matter what, as long as the car is running the rear defroster light is on.
Would replacing the P14 take care of this? I've heard that a common problem was bad connections in the Control Panel, could this be the cause?
Also, the whole reason the P14 pin burned up is due to a shitty wiring job on the alarm which was removed before I bought the car, so now there's alarm components and exposed wires that just cut off all around my engine bay, I plan on having this crap removed before I put in the new P14 so it won't happen again
I desperately need your help, it's too ******* hot in southern Texas right now to be driving around with no A/C

Troubleshooting an AC issue over the Internet is VERY difficult. However, since the climate control is a known issue, that would be the first thing I would do so that you don't waste money trying other possible causes. Also, yes, the climate control issue has been known to be the cause of the AC not working.
Resolder the connects and then come back if you still have a problem.

Okay, I've taken the climate control out, it's sitting in pieces at my table right now.
I had my dad (electrician guy) check it out, he said all the solders are good, he can't see any problems on the circuit board.
Are there any connection point in particular I should be looking at? Pics or a diagram or something would be good, since I don't know exactly what it is I'm looking for. Should I just re-solder them all just for good measure or what?
I need some help, preferably from someone who's done this.
By the way, the climate control unit is a bitch to take apart

Where in South Texas are you?.. i'm in san antonio, and could proably point you to someone who can fix your problem with the wiring. He can also get your a/c working. HE is very honest, and will accurately diagnois your problem and he is very reasonable on his pricing. PM me if you want his number.
I'm in New Braunfels, I'd assume you know where it is (Schlitterbahn?). Like 20 minutes from San Antonio.
I'd like to take care of this myself though, for the sake of being cheap and so i don't have to leave my car somewhere else for people other than me to tear apart.
Please, anybody who's done this, help me out
