Default Transmission? or Wire Maintenance?

Hello to all Prelude lovers. I have just bought a Manual 5 Spead Honda Prelude 1990 SI 2.0. Runs great, but only one problem. As the vehicle either sits on N or first gear, the RPM's act wild by pushing the accelerator by its self. So it runs idle on 2-3 rpms constantly. What suggestions can I get to fix this problem. Imagine sitting in your car, on N, at the light, and the car just goes vroom vroom vrooom by it self. Its wild. How or what part can I use or get to adjust this mechanical problem. Please Help.

is your throttle plate closed while its doing this? like take the ducting off and check. if the plate actually moves when its idling i'd guess its like the cruise control thing...unplug the vacuum line running to it and cap it. actualy i dunno if its vacuum controlled or electric but iether way disable it and make sure that the cable isnt holding the throttle plate open. i dont think that the fast idle solenoid valve thing can increase the rpms that much but maybe try unplugging the wires to it jus to make sure.

Thank you for replying Brolli. I will have to check my throttle plate later tonite. Good advice. I will post my result once I take a look at that.
