today i was driving my car for the first time a 2000 si with a drag kit and as i drove out of my driveway for the first time turning onto a major road i got on the gas easy in first gear went to shift into 2nd felt a slight bog but then it kept acceleratring like normal brought it to 6500rpms..full boost...blowoff, everyhitngs fine 3rd gear wind it out again a litttle bringin it only up to 6500rpms so i could get into boost fine once more, pulls rerally hard then i low down and come to a light my car shut off. It wouldnt turn over so i pushed it off the road and it started up again but alot of smoke was coming out of my breather off my valve cover it felt like it was havin some trouble running my radiator hose is completely soft and i am pouring white smoke out my exhaust as well if i try to drive it. everyone is telling me ringlands but i dont think id be gettin all that white smoke out of my exhaiust if it was from ringlands.

I bought the car with a Cometic head gasket on it......could it have been installed wrong? is this causing this problem?

my car started smoking on the breather and it was the ring lands.do a compression test.good luck

 

That samething happen to me on one of my motors. It cracked a ringland in mine. and mess the side of the piston up bad.. But my motor had to much timing..

 

mine was a tuning problem. but same thing happen.

 

+1 more for ringlands. prepare to tear your engine down.

you can still have perfect compression numbers with broken ringlands. So if it smokes out of the breather its too late.

yup. your ringlands are fux0red/ think of it as an excuse to build the motor now

 

Compression from the combustion chamber is leaking into the bottom of the block causing the engine to pressurize and blow crap out of the rebreather hose. If there was a hole in the piston, it would run horrible, so i'd say definetly a ring problem.

 

ouch that hurts for the first time out. I thought it was bad when i blew my headgasket the first night I had the turbo on

 

there is whitw smoke comin out the breather and the exhaust would there be white smoke out my exhaust if my ringlands were cracked? also my radiator hose is soft? i need help people that have looked at it have been tellin me headgasket but i dunno help me

 

what happened when you blew your headgasket???

 

head gasket = over heat usually, oil in coolant, coolant in oil

smoking out breather = broken ringland it happened to me last month on 13 psi.

broke ring wont cause white exhaust, chk also for coolant level being low.

blown hg doesnt always cause fluids to mix.

chk for low coolant, and crank it over with the plugs out and see what comes out.

 

synthetice oil will burn a whiteish color

 

thats what i was told im just stumped on what the hell is wrong i have coolant but my hose is soft? white smoke is just pouring out of my exhaust and breather

 

coolants can mix when you have blown headgaskets its not a definate...when my ringlands cracked the car wouldnt start half time and the compression was low and i had alot of smoke coming out of breather...not saying it always happens just saying what my experience was...

jus dropped off my SI that was for sale on honda-tech went home to finally drive my new turbo si and 5 blocks later it quits
