Default Ls Vtec Question

I know when building an ls vtec you should install arp rod bolts, what if i just installled gsr or type r rods and pistons would they fit and be reliable to 8 every day?

k cul, i was thinking it would be safer if the rods were from a vtec bottom end. Will the compression be over 9:1 with the ls pistons and a b16 head? or shoul i swap them out?

they are different lengths. and the ls rods arent any weaker its just the rod bolts thats weak. so just replace the rod bolts with ARP. then ull be good for up to 9 i think. i got stock ones and i bring it up to 8 all the time. going to get the ARP too.

Put in GSR / Type R rods and see how far your pistons stick out of the hole.

Spend the $35 and sleep easy.
