Default Unpluging my o2 sensor makes my car idle smoother....huh?

So my car has been idling pretty rough lately so i decided to tested numerous things. One of the things i tested was the o2, i unplugged it and it seemed to make the car idle perfectly...Before, when plugged i would hear and occasional cough from the exhaust like every 5 secs. Why is this, i have absolutely no ECU codes.

It seemes the o2 sensor gives wrong information to the ECU. I´d check the output voltage of the o2 sensor. Maybe its wrecked.....

How many miles are on the O2 sensor? They don't last forever...

Wierd! I have about 93K on my Civic. Just the other day I threw a CEL and the car would shudder and die when idling. I plugged my OBD2 computer into it and found that O2 sensor number one was bad. So $85 dollars for a bosch and $10 for a special socket, and I was good to go. I can't beleive your car runs BETTER without it. I would make sure my CEL wasn't burned out. BTW, the downstream O2sensor for a 00 Civic is $250!!!! I think that would be time for a O2 sensor emulator.

yeah, or what i was also thinkg is maybe i have a leak in my downpipe, right before the o2, so its getting off readings...I hate these bastardly o2 POS's. Is there anyway to check and see if the o2 is working correctly. No i dont have a spare. What kind of voltage should they be putting out at idle?

I disassembled my motor today so I wont be able to check it out for a week! I may just replace it though.

I started having idle problems when I went with bigger cams, larger TB, and chipped ECU last september! Check everything possible with no solutions. Even after I got tuned it still idled like ****!

Maybe its the o2 or the chip in my ECU. I will find out after teh rebuild. If it is still there then mabe its the ECU; in which I am switching over to Crome on my next tune.
