Default Best intake for a 2000 Accord?

I am about to purchase a manual 2000 Accord. I don't plan on doing many mods on it but I would like an intake as probably the only "performance" mod. I was thinking of going wiht AEM but don't know which one. What intakes gain the most HP wise. Also, how high is the possibility of hydro-locking with a CAI?

Intakes aren't really going to make a difference in "power" on stock motors really. A generic intake would be fine. You won't really hydro-lock unless your just submerged in water.

As DFW said INtakes dont make much power in newer cars. Your lucky if you gain a few ponies. You can get a CAI if your area where you live is dry most of the time. If not id get the SRI. Intake will also alter your engine tone.

One of the main things I was looking foward to is sound also. Would an intake net be better gas mileage also? I wanted an intake because exhausts usually are too loud. Who knows. I'll look around and get an intake and exhaust at the same time.

if u wunt the "best" yea, AEM V12(or was it V2) intake is in my opinion, one of the best, but it also cost like 300 bucks...if u really just wunt a intake, and intake alone, just get the cheapest one on ebay and put a K&N, or injen, or HKS, or wutever brand u like filter, as long as its reputable, if u dunt kno much bout good brands, i say K&N...though a high dollar brand name intake pipe wud(in my opinion and theory!!) perob give u a few extra horses, its nothing u will ever notice on the street, maybe if ur a competive racer and those .10 seconds means a win or a loss then it wud prob be a good diea to throw out 100+ bucks for a good intake, other then that...ebay tube+name brand filter=money well spent

o yea, and u wud get a nice puur from ur engine at WOT and better MPG but u wud prob always be going WOT to hear ur new intake u wud prob get shittier MPG
