removing the fuel rail on 96 Accord 2.2L VTEC
I need to remove the fuel rail and fuel injectors to access to the EGR ports under the fuel rail. I am a DIY type people and I am a little bit nervous on doing this. I have a Hayes manual and I believe I understand the procedures: 1: remove the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors; 2: disconnect the fuel pump tube; 3: disconnect the fuel return tube; 4: pull the fuel rail out. Should I do it when the car is cold? How do I relief the fuel pressure?
If you have done this before, do you mind sharing your experience on this? Any special precautious?
Thanks~

I did that here. I just did not remove the whole thing, just moved it enough out of my way. I would do it with the engine cold.

Hi 95ACM,
Did you get a new EGR chamber gasket, fuel injector O-rings and seal rings for this project or did you just use your old ones?
Thanks.

no matter what i would still replace all the gaskets and o-rings....not very expensive from honda and could save alot of time if one is faulty using the old ones!!!
I made sure not to bend anything too drastically and just reused the old ones. They showed no signs of wear, and there are no leaks. If I was going to replace the rings and gasket I wouldn't have done it so lazily, eg: not removing the fuel rail fully
On a side note, I cleaned the EGR because I failed the emissions inspection, took it back a day ago and passed.
