Brake Light on???
Can someone tell me what can cause the brake light to come on and stay on? I know the parking brake handle cause the light to come on, but is there anything else that could cause this?
My problem...
When i put the p-brake handle down the light stays on. after the car has been driven for about 10-15 minutes the light will go out and come on depending if i hit the brakes. I have played with the handle to see if that has anything to do with the problem. It seems not to.
thanks in advance

Can dirty / old fluid cause this same problem ? Fluid level is fine, but im sure a bleed wouldn't hurt.
My car is doing this exact same thing, however it is 30 degrees outside as well. The only two times it has done this is on a cold day.
Is this normal for cold temperatures, and if so, what causes it?

Last year when it got cold I had the same problem. Now this year with clean fluid it's not doing it in roughly the same temps. It's possible from what I've experienced but try adding a little more fluid first and then go from there.

It's not cold enough yet this year, but in the previous two years I've had my brake light come on in cold weather on a handful of occasions. The light would come on when not braking IIRC.
As someone else said, in these instances, after 15 minutes or so the brake light would go out. Brake fluid level was fine.
I replaced the brake fluid this summer. I'm interested in seeing if I have this occur this winter.
