Default flickering oil light

I first got a solid oil light after going through one of those car washes that spray water underneath the engine. I quickly stoped the car and checked for problems. The light went away after a short while and never came back on.

After changing my oil and removing the filter, oil got all over a connection which is below the filter. Shortly after driving I notice that the oil light flickers only when in motion heading straight. If I am making a sharp turn or at a stand still it will be completely off. I am wondering if you guys think that it is an oil pump problem or is the oil pressure switch really located directly under the oil filter.

I'm assuming you've been checking your oil levels and it's okay. It sounds like an electrical problem like a loose connection or wire that is shorting. I would double check your connections that the oil pressure sensor wire goes through. Test the voltage, test the sensor, try moving the wire around and see if that makes the light flicker. I don't have my helms on me so I can't give you specifics, I can later though if no one posts them by tonight.

I don't wanna alarm you, this probably is a short of some sort, i had a simarlar problem with my h23, oil pump got clogged and caused my #4 main bearing to crack due to oil starvation
I'm just saying never underestimate those kinda things, Good Luck.

id get an oil pressure gage. stop relying on the dummy light.

one time my light was flashing, but ii had good oil pressure. turns out the diode in the alt went bad, causing the elec system go crazy.

Well, I went under the car and tightened the connection to the oil pressure sender. The light went off.

Yeah, I fixed it this morning along with that annoying surging which started to surge even if the car was off.

I am still surprised how loud the vacuum to the fitv was in the mornings.
