Default ITR w/nitrous - timing issue

The installer just told me that he has the timing on my ignition kicked back to 6 degrees just to be safe. What kind of a power increase will I see if I only retard 4 degrees? Is it a big jump in power? He said it is also running rich, just incase I happen to get bad gas one time I fill up. Does this stuff sound right? I dont want to be missing out on a lot of power.. what should I do?

Thanks,
Jon

with that much nitrous i would run 6 retard anyway, just to be safe.
when you said you are running rich, i hope thats not all the time.
you can rejet the fuel so it is more than necessary so you are only rich
while spraying.

I am only running rich while spraying I think... how do i make sure that he set it up so I am only running rich while spraying and not when off the bottle. I am assuming that you are saying the best method is for him to just spray more fuel through the fuel jets when spraying, and not adding more fuel with the stock fuel system... right? How much whp/tq should I be making with an 80 shot if I am tuned properly?

Thanks as always Steve..

Dude 6 degrees is a lot of timing retard...6 is not needed for only an 80 shot trust me....I have my timing at 18 degrees but when my NOS kicks in it drops to 13 degrees...and everything seems to be running smoothly and it's been like that since October basically
