Picked Up a 00 SV650 - Got it Painted Matte Black - Pics
This is my 2000 SV650 when I first bought it two weeks ago:

And after the matte black paint. The paint was done by a shop that painted the silver car in the pics, and it's bascially a matte black finish that I picked out from various color swatches they had at the body shop:

Suburban machinery bars, added by the previous owner:

Yoshi pipe, again from previous owner:

Dual headlights, again from previous owner:

I left the rear piece gunmetal to match the wheels, and I'll be filling the gaps left by the bar with something asap.

If any pics fail to show, click "refresh" and they'll probably pop in. The server is weird like that.
I'm new to bikes altogether, and this is my first bike. I don't plan on any major mods, just riding it. It needs a new front tire, and it has a very very slight oil seepage from a plate just above the right end case cover. From what I understand it's just a small gasket that is seeping.
I work at a car shop (as some of you might know) and I'm pretty handy with tools, so I'll probably attempt to fix this myself with the help of a Suzuki manual from the dealer.
What do you guys think about the color? Have you guys seen a matte black SV650?
Oh and if anyone even cares here's a car pic thrown in:

Thanks for looking! I hope to keep the semi-shiny side up!!!

How much would you expect I paid for it? 2000 model with 7,700 miles, minor scratches (now fixed), Yoshi pipe, new rear tire, good paint (when it was OE red), etc. etc.

That's a compliment.
I haven't seen many pre-03 SVs that look that nice. The previous owner did a lot of work to it, appearance-wise. Call it a tailored streetfighter look...I really like it.

Thanks for the comments guys.
To answer the price question i want to first say what these bikes are commanding in my area.
I found roughly 7-8 2000 SV650s (non-S) in the ATL area all with similiar mileage of 6000-8000 miles, very light scratchs, etc. Every last one of them was going for at least $4,500.00. Only one had a good aftermarket pipe on it, and they were asking $5,200.00! Hell brand new SV650s are going for $5,800.00 drive-out!!!
So I expanded my search to neighboring states via http://www.cycletrader.com and found one in Alabama (the one I bought) for the asking price of $2,800.00. I asked him to go $2,700.00 since it needed a new front tire, and he agreed.
I could have flipped it for the $4,500.00 in the ATL area if I wanted to, even without the fresh paint, but then I'd not find another good deal again, so it'd be pointless.
I've been looking into some minor upgrades, but honestly for now the bike is plenty enough for me. It's a bit bouncy up front because of the tire, so that'll be the first thing to do.
And it is not for everyone - some may love it, some may hate it. I'm not the full fairing type guy. not hating on them, just saying that I personally prefer the raw naked look.

Definitely a compliment, bike looks much better with dual lights.

Looks awesome man.Good choice on the SV for your first bike.Glad you didn't jump right on a Gixxer or something like alot of n00bs do.Paint looks hott. The dual headlights look hott. That thing is a wheelie machine and don't let anyone tell you different.Throw a small lower fairing on that thing and she's gold!
Yeah it's definately got torque. Compared to the CBR 600 F2 I learned how to ride on, this thing has much fatter power down low and torque. I'm sure a good running F2 would probably beat the SV650 up top though.
It seems like the SV650 is the ultimate transition/beginner bike, no? I see that a lot of bikers have owned one at some time. I was looking at the honda 919, but I honestly like the styling better and certainly the sound of the V-Twin better than the I4 in the 919. not to mention the 919 was heavier, and $2,000.00 more expensive.
As far as wheelies go, no thanks. I'm trying to be stable on two wheels, so I won't be popping it up any time soon.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
