which would b a better swap gen 1 b16 or b18b on a 97 coupe?

depends. the b18b comes with more displacement out of the box plus you can do the ls/vtec swap for some more horses, but the b16 comes with more hp but not alot of torque. its up to you for your plans. If it were me id go with the b18b cuz its cheaper and has more potential.

Yeah I used to have a B18 LS in my car then I got the B16 becuase I thought it would be faster only to realize that Vtec makes it faster thats pretty much it racing my friend with a b16 I would pull on him in 1st very hard then as soon as he came into vtec he would pull on me ofcourse but Ive done so much to my b16 its fast nice IMO if you got the money go with the b16 but if you dont andyou just want a quick car for less money go with the b18

Correct. It will also cost more to buy a b18b and gsr tranny than if you just got a b16 in the first place.

It doesn't suprise me that you asked that question. But you should probably do a search before asking a question that depends on the driver.
