need help fast!!!
got a 94 gsr and throwing in lowing springs, got the front done fine but back one wont come out. the bolt under the shock is in too tight and bushing doesn't spin so bushing is ok. how can i get the springs out in one way or the other?? need help or tips on how to get out. thanks!!
you have a few options.. are you using air tools? if not, an impact wrench will help tremendously!
heat it up with a torch and try it...
soak it with wd-40, let it sink in and try it...
cut it out then bang it out with a hammer...
burn out the bushing and bolt and replace both parts...

Torch + PB blaster helped. It seemed to work best by applying the pb blaster, then torching, then re-applying pb blaster, then torching again. Got most of my bolts out this way. I also had a gigantic breaker bar, which was actually about a 13ft long metal drainage pipe, it helped.
That bolt is a problem for many people. Pretty much you have only a few options. Use brute force with some penetrating liquid, or actually cut the bolt and remove it.
Try to get your hands on some air tools....or at least a torch and some penetrating liquid.

if when your trying to loosen the bolt and it almost feels like its flexing in a way stop before you snap the head of the bolt off. heat it up good and use some air tools on it
If your just putting in lowering springs, you can do it without removing the shocks all the way. Simply unbolt the LCA from the trailing arm. Unbolt the shock from the shock tower. If you can remove the bolt connecting the LCA to the chassis, then you can remove the LCA/Shock combo from the car now. IF not, you can install your spring compressor inside the fender well. Once you get the shock top off, it should be easy to get the lowering spirngs back in. Ususally lowering springs don't require a spring compressor to be installed, so it should be easy at that point.
If none of your LCA bolts will come loose, it is possible to drop the whole trailing arm to get access to the shock top too. Just un-bolt the UCA, and the two trailing arm bushing bolts. You should be able to fold the whole trailing arm down to get the shock out of the shock tower...
Good luck, and whatever you do, don't break any bolt heads...

i actually ended cutin out the bolt. there is a welded nut on the strut that put pressure on the bolt. the strut arms that the bolt goes through bends open so the bolt broke with the 400 ft lb impact gun i had. how can i get the new bushing in and how do i compress the strut arms to close so they don't bend the bolt? (i torched the bitch out with hi-oxy mapp gas)
