Default 96 ek w/GSR ECU AND BUTTERFLY QUESTION p28 ks and iab

96 ek with a gsr|||| Guys a friend of mine has a iab control problem. Its not opening all 8 just 4. can he remove the butterflys to get all sufficient amounts of air or will he lose power.

Also will a p28 ecu read his knock sensor on his gsr or do p28s not look for them and allow him to bypass putting it on.

thanks in advance

i believe if you remove butterflies, you may lose some low end power. Not sure tho...And if you get a chipped p28, you can pretty much chip it how ever you want it....

removing butterflies does kill some low end power when you floor it since they open at WOT instead of a certain rpm. It does not affect top end. The p28 does not look for knock sensor.
