Default Need help diagnosing a noise....

Ok so I am getting a "thumping" sound from my left front wheel. At first I thought CV joint, but it seems to happen when going straight as well as turning AND it only happens when I am coasting. If my foot is on the gas or brake it doesnt do it.
Any ideas what I should take a look at?

TIA
Jeff

CV joing - drive axle
Alignment; toe, control arms, strut/shock, etc. - Not too likey.
Bent wheel
Tire pressure?

Check these, if not then I would suggest it is your drive axle - boot.

Speed of the thump is proportional to the speed the car is going, fast = fast thump, slow = slow thump

Yes I have, a couple of my friend suggested this, but surely it would still make the noise when breaking and accellerating tho wouldnt it? I guess the only way to fix it would be a new tire :-/

You need a new tire.

Why don't you switch that wheel with another one and see if the problem moves? That'll help you isolate it.
