Default Car dies when a/c is on at dead stop

My girlfriends 94 accord ex automatic dies when the a/c is on and we are braked at a stop light or something. I think she has a broken motor mount because the car and motor shake when we are stopped. But would this broken mount cause the car to die when the a/c is on at a stop? Its fine when we are rolling because the rpms are up.

You need to adjust your idle. It's set to low to power the engine and A/C. Make note of what it sits right before it dies

sorry, but how do you adjust the idle?, and wouldn't that just be a ghetto way of doing it by just increasing the rpms so it doesn't die? Shouldn't there be a main problem?

motor mount will not cause car to die it will make it shake you will feel it in dash or steering wheel....
what is your idle set at without engaging a/c?? should be around 750-800 rpm if it is lower raise it by turning the adjuster screw in throttle body counterclock ..
unfortunatelly there is no separate adjustment for a/c on your car it is computer controlled

yeah its at 750 when a/c is not on. So thats fine. It drops to about 400-500 when a/c turns on though.

On the back of the intake manifold, #19 is the IAC valve which the computer uses to hold the idle steady. See if it's dirty, clean with throttlebody cleaner. May as well clean the throttle body too, especially where the throttle plate closes against the bore.

Maybe you can adjust the base idle. Desert, is it about the same for different years? If it's wrong, the computer might use up all of its range holding idle without the AC, so there's no more left when the AC comes on.

Warm up the engine real good & turn everything off (lights, stereo, blowers). Unplug the electrical connection to the IACV, the engine will almost stall. You might have to hold the rpms up & gently let them down. Adjust screw #1 for about 450 or 500 rpm. It goes back up where it belongs when you plug it back in.
