Default NoN Honda related: DSM fuel pumps

Does any one know if DSM fuel pumps, say one off of a 92 Eagle Talon would fit a civic tank.

What r th eflow rates and pressure rates like for those pumps?

Just thinking of a cheaper alternative to buying a new one ya know.

That's whats in mine... a GST pump...

I've been told they flow enough fuel for a 350+ HP car without an external pump needed. That's straight out of a fuel pump buyers/crossreferencing guide.

According to this pic, the DSM fuel pump doesn't seem to flow a lot more than stock.. I'm not sure which DSM pump this is though, you'd have to ask Sonny...

the DSM turbo pump is good to certain point. if you plan on running 12:1 fmu ans **** dont thinkg about. But if you plan on doing a good fuel system then go right ahead its excellent fuel pump for mid pressure levels.

I have the dsm pump in my prelude, for the older gsx's. It's a walboro, got it for a killer price from a hookup here.

My only complaint is that the sock is not angled the right way for my tank. It sits a few inches higher than it normally would. I have to keep my fuel levelr 1-2 notches above empty to play it safe. When I redo my fuel setup I plan on adding some more legnth like larry does.

Hmmmm I wonder if that graph is why I burned up my first motor with a 6:1 disk at about 10 PSI....

That's pretty interesting, good info.

I'm glad I've got my 550's and a computer to run everything now, instead of crappy FMU's

You can thank Sonny ( svanhook )

The graph also shows why it's bad to use a 10:1 or 12:1 rise rate at high boost levels with only a GSS342 intank pump

I was under the impression that the DSM pump was smaller then the stock GSR pump...according to zdyne..
http://www.zdyne.com/forcedfactory.html

And the stock 2g DSM pump is really only good for about 250hp on a DSM...one of the first mods on a DSM is to replace the fuel pump with something bigger.

I have a DSM pump in my tank. 92 hatch w/ b16. When I put the turbo on what other fuel things should I add? I was thinking an FMU but you all make it sound like that isnt a good idea. I dont have the money for a hondata or anything like that. Would an FMU, in line pump, and fpr do the job at 6-7 lbs?

Yes, an FMU and inline pump would work. But you would probably also want an afc to fine tune it. For a little more(300-400), you could get a Hondata though...

12:1 is what most kits come with, so I would assume that this is a safe bet. But a 10:1 may work as well but I have not tried that before.

Yeah it would be nice if we could all afford a hondata, hopfully that will be on next years upgrade list.

But for now I have to rely on an FMU, preferable an adjustable like a Paxton or Cartech (not the vortech where you have to change disks) and an EGT gauge to see where I'm running (rish or lean).

Having an FMU is better than not having it thats for sure.

I run a Cartech and a GSX fuel pump. I am not real happy. Happy just not REAL happy. I have 310s also and I can barely make 9.5 - 10psi.
I think the way to go with a DSM pump is to set it up like a DSM. Get 450s and a computer to compensate.
