Default BB6 Cd Player

Just wondering if a BB6 (97-01 Prelude) OEM Cd player would fit in a EG hatch and EK hatch/coupe. Would it just be a plug and play type thing or lil modification involved?

the cd player itself would fit but if you put in eg will need a different harness, ek 98 and up plugs right in,.

You need the adpt. harness for your car and the rev. harness for the HU check here http://www.installdr.com, the plugs you can get at your local car audio shops. 94

hum I just talked to someone on here that had the cdplayer and he said it was just a direct plug and play using the civic harness. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1285696

IIRC it's 99 when the plug changed... so based on what I recall this is what you want to know:

up to 98 will use the 70-1720 plug, 99 and up will use the 70-1721 (Both Part #'s being Metra). if you're putting a 97 or 98 prelude radio into a pre-99 civic, it will plug right in. Same with a 99+ prelude radio going into a 99+ civic. But to put a pre-99 prelude radio into a 99+ civic, you'd need to get teh 70-1721 harness that would plug into the civic, and a 71-1720 harness that would plug into the pre-99 prelude radio, then match color for color. Same with a 99+ prelude radio going into a pre-99 civic. Get a 70-1720 harness for the civic's plug, and a 71-1721 harness to go into the 99+ prelude radio. Then match colors between the two plugs again and you're set.
