Depress brakes several times and engine surges???
Hello everyone out in Honda land...
I have a question that maybe one of you experts out there may know...
When sitting at idle and I pump the brakes of my 93 Civic EX... the engine begins to surge in RPMS to about 1200 - 1500... Does anyone out there know if this is normal or if there is a problem here? I am curious...all in all the car runs great and as the old saying goes..."don't fix it, if it ain't broke"... is one that I would not mind listening to right now...however if there is a problem and there is an easy fix...then I may be inclined to look into it....
Thank you

It's normal. The brake booster is run off of vaccuum from the intake manifold, so if you use that pressure that is built up in the brake booster really quick the cars idle adjusts to bring back that pressure.
