i have a b16. when replacing the starter i found that i only have one bolt (the top one). how big is the bottom one? it seems like it is a 14mm head and it must be long because the few that ive tried won't even beging to catch. im hoping to just find one at the local hardware store but i need to know how long it is, or do i even need it?

 

It is a 14 mm bolt, just like the top bolt. The thread on the bolt has the same pitch as the top (shorter) bolt. I am not sure about the length of the lower bolt however. And yes, I would highly suggest having a lower bolt, honda put it there for a reason.

 

maybe thats what caused my starter to burn out?
anyhow please let me know how long it is

 

I used two 3 " extensions with a deep socket 14mm

 

not the extensions. how long is the bolt?
