Default Anyone see the Eagle cranks for the B20?

I was thumbing through the latest Stupid Street and in the back there is an ad for Eagle Specialty Products.

All the usual rods and stuff was listed but they also sell cranks and a full B20 kit.

Anyone know the website?

This is all I know...

supposedly they will be out within the next month or so, but then again, they told me the same thing LAST month.

standard forged and lightweight versions will be available in 87.2mm, 89.0mm and 95.0mm stroke.

the 95.0mm stroke will have b18a/b sized rod journals.

i already have the pistons/rods in stock ready for the 95.0mm crank when it is released. the custom pistons I have are 84.5mm bore, with 4.4cc dome height.

if you're not concerned with a bad R/S and a big stroke, then this kit would probably be worth your while for a hardcore street engine.

displacement ends up being 2130cc. compression will be made anywhere from 10.9:1 and up, depending on deck clearance, gasket size and cc volume.

i've got my fingers crossed that these cranks should be out soon... can't wait.

so the 95mm is going to be based on 84.5 mm pistons only??

hmmm... do you what they R/S ratio would work out to be...

Mike: is it possible to get 2.0L of displacemtn with their cranks while using a stock 81mm bore? Would I be able to rev to 9500 on a GSR motor with the lightweight crank?

I did poorly in middle school math, it was only when I got to highschool I got my act together, then in college, it fell apart agian.

82mm bore and 95MM stroke sounds good to me...

Mike do ya know if the 89mm version will be able to work with the B18c1/5 journals..??? And if they will have pistions that will reduce the 1.8mm of extra stroke or can I use standard pistions with a thicker gasket...
Thanks

The 89mm crank has LS journals.

What are you getting at?

The 89mm Eagle crank is basically an LS crank.

Oh, Toda guy.. here...

81.0mmx95mm = 1957cc
81.5mmx95mm = 1982cc
82.0mmx95mm = 2006cc

personally I think that low r/s ratio would be better served with non VTEC setups which revs to 7K rpm max ... especially on a street motor that people go from/to school/work/girlfriends/nudie bar, etc.

This doesn;t even bring into account the weight of the piston at 9500 rpm with that ratio ... unbelievable amount of stress on those thrust washers, bearings and rod bolts.

84.5x95.0 LS motor would be sick.

Stock cams, JDM header, and like 11.5:1 compression.

Truly a nice motor with hella street potential in a hatch.

Oh, and short gearing would rock, too. ITR trans w/ ATS or 4.78

are the eagle cranks better quality than the oem one and what is the weight difference between the two??

the perfect build would be to use the 95mm crank and a custom deck plate. That would truly be a beast. If only I had the money to do that..

yea, the deck plate is an idea.. but you need custom timing belt and header.. and hood clearance might be an issue.

I think the lightweight versions are balanced to 11000rpm and are 4lbs. lighter than OEM. Not sure about the quality difference.. but I saw one at SEMA and it looks outstanding. The surfaces were much smoother than stock, and almost sharp, as if it were knife-edged already. This was the lightweight 87.2mm one, BTW.

This is an email response that I got from Eagle concerning upping my displacement to 2.0L:

Using a 95mm crank in a stock deck height block will reduce your rodratio
to about 1.45. This does not work well at high RPM. We will be sellinga
stroker kit (scheduled to be released within a month) that will utilizea
95mm stroke, engine displacement will be 1.96 L. We do not recommendrevving
this combination higher than 8000. The best wat to increase your enginesize
and retain high revs is to go with a larger bore. You will need to haveyour
block resleeved. You can then bore it to as much as 86mm, use an LS (B18A/B)
crank and your size will be 2.1 L. IF you plan on going forced inductionor
NOS, we do not recommend using a bore size larger than 84mm. This willbe a
2.0L

Thank you for your inquiry.

Well, there it goes.
