Default Is this website accurate?

Hey guys i was looking up on google for checking timing and I wanted to know if this guy's explanation was correct and if it will apply to my motor d16z6

i dont think that is for a d16z6. what are you trying to do? i suppose you could do like this guy says if you can get the bottem end at tdc then remove the cover to expose the cam gear there is a plastic pointer and a line on your cam gear line them up and you good to go. oh yea youll seen on the cam gear it says up you want that up obviously. assuming this is for cam timing. ignition timing youll need a timing light.

is it at all possible that the crank pully was put on wrong making the tdc mark inaccurate?

no not possible there is a (i forget the correct term) notch in both the crank and pulley that a key goes in so people cant mess it up.
